From baseball to Feed.fm: Nick Vazquez brings a performance mindset

We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Vazquez to the Feed.fm team.

Nick is a rare combination. A former professional athlete, lifelong musician, and experienced tech seller, Nick’s background hits all the right notes to be the newest addition to the Feed.fm sales team.

After playing outfield for the Miami Marlins and Kansas City Royals organizations, Nick shifted gears into tech sales, racking up seven years of experience in fast-paced, results-driven environments. He holds an economics degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is currently in the MBA program at the University of Maryland.

Music is in Nick’s DNA. He grew up in a family of musicians and plays guitar, bass, and drums. 

Chatting with Nick, it’s clear that the same drive that powered him on the baseball field fuels how he shows up in sales. For him, success is about consistency, passion, and always playing the long game.

 

Baseball and tech sales have more in common than you might think

Pro baseball and tech business development might seem worlds apart, but according to Nick, they both demand resilience, consistency, and a high tolerance for risk. “Sales is a long game,” he says. “Just like you’re not hitting a home run every time you’re at bat, you’re not closing every deal. But you keep showing up and getting better.”

Nick’s mindset is built for momentum. He’s all about managing pressure with purpose—keeping his eye on the big picture and staying steady no matter the outcome. It’s a perspective that helps him thrive, even when the stakes are high.

Teamwork is another major theme. Whether on the field or with clients, Nick believes in meeting people where they are at, playing to people’s strengths, and building relationships rooted in empathy. Understanding other people’s personalities, drivers, and incentives helps Nick align his efforts for maximum success all around. “Everyone brings something different to the table,” he explains. “I’m always looking for ways to win together.” His personal mantra? Be kind. Always.

 

Sales with an emphasis on service, communication, and collaboration

Nick describes his sales style as highly consultative. He says his goal is to truly understand a customer’s needs and guide them to the best solution. By listening to their experiences, learning about their needs, and communicating clearly and transparently, he can help solve complex issues, in line with Feed.fm’s capabilities.

When asked what defines a successful client relationship, Nick doesn’t hesitate: “Transparency and trust. You get there through honest, open communication. I’m not trying to ‘sell’ someone, I’m trying to see if our solutions align with what they need.”
